As a Senior Technical Officer - Configuration Management, you will be involved in the preparation and amendment of aircraft configuration and maintenance tasks. This will see you reviewing Qantas Airways and customer managed documentation and ensuring accurate updates of configuration, tasks and technical documentation in the maintenance information systems (MIS), Maintenix. Additionally, this role will involve providing functional and configuration management support to system end users as needed.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Review technical documentation (Qantas and customer managed documentation) and make appropriate configuration updates in the MIS
  • Manage aircraft configuration and allowable part fitments in the MIS.
  • Oversee and review data synchronization of aircraft configuration and allowable parts information between the MIS and other Qantas downstream systems.
  • Recommend corrective changes to aircraft configuration based on review of technical documentation and feedback from end users
  • Provide Configuration management hotline support to MIS end users for configuration management and system functional issues, as required. The role may also have the option to be included in the shift roster, subject to agreement with all parties.

You'll have:

  • Certificate IV in Aero skills or equivalent.
  • Aircraft Maintenance/Airline Experience.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance instructions, procedures, and their regulatory compliance and structure.
  • Experience in working in an approved maintenance organisation. (desirable)
  • Strong computer literacy, including experience with Maintenix (or equivalent Aviation maintenance software).
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated low error rate.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise and work on multiple issues concurrently.
  • Be flexible with working arrangements and have the ability to vary start times if required.
