About the Role

If you are enthusiastic about enhancing organizational success through creative learning and development strategies, consider becoming a Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD) Business Partner at the City of Parramatta. In this 6-month contract role, you will have a crucial part in defining the future of our workforce.

As an L&OD Business Partner, your responsibilities will include providing strategic advice on learning and organizational development throughout the Council. You will be involved in end-to-end business partnering, covering scoping, research, analysis, design, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation of L&OD programs to ensure that the employee experience remains a top priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and ongoing review of CoP's L&OD frameworks, strategies, and programs, aligning them with the organization's strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to identify L&OD needs, propose solutions, and implement them effectively.
  • Stay updated on modern L&OD practices to shape program design and enhance organizational capabilities and culture.
  • Use workforce analytics and industry trends to anticipate skill demands for key roles and create strategies for capability enhancement.
  • Lead the design and execution of various L&OD initiatives, including leadership development, talent management, performance evaluation, and more.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on organizational capability, performance, and culture to P&C colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain a collection of L&OD resources to aid managers and staff in achieving strategic goals.
  • Monitor and report on the results and effectiveness of L&OD programs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and legislative obligations, along with EEO principles and Council policies.
  • Contribute to enhancing customer service and organizational efficiency through ethical and fair conduct.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate must possess a robust background in learning and organizational development, with extensive experience in designing and delivering impactful L&OD programs. Strong stakeholder engagement and exceptional communication skills are essential for this role.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an L&OD role, preferably within a diverse organization.
  • Proven track record in developing L&OD programs for various levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizing learning events with large-scale participation.
  • Experience in procurement, including contract negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Adult Education, Organisational Development, Human Resources, or related field.

Skills

  • Thorough understanding of adult learning principles and their application in program design.
  • Ability to deliver strategic organizational development initiatives confidently.
  • Self-motivation and project management skills for timely project completion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer expectation management.
  • Effective team collaboration skills to achieve common goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle various scenarios adeptly.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to work across all Council levels.

Offered Benefits
We provide a competitive salary ranging from $121,735 to $134,009 along with 11% superannuation.
