ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role will enable you to be part of a high performing organisation that makes a significant
positive impact on the wellbeing of Australians through informing government policies, programs
and initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced researcher to conduct literature reviews, rapid reviews and
evidence scans, and contribute to research reports, publications, corporate initiatives, thought
leadership pieces/activities and more.

A sound knowledge of research methods, including quantitative and/or qualitative skills, and data
visualisation skills are required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is
the ability to think and work in a structured, systematic way as you engage with complex content.
English, to suit a range of clients.

ORIMA Research Pty Ltd is an evidenced based, social research consultancy that conducts primary
research for Australian and State / Territory Government clients on a range of topics including
healthcare and wellbeing, employee engagement, education, environmental assets, policy, disability,
sports programs, communications, First Nations and more.

Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of people by contributing to high quality, evidence-based
public policy, public administration, service delivery, communications campaigns and management
decisions, through our market and social research, data analytics and advisory services. Our projects
have made a significant contribution to advancing evidence-based public policy and
programs/initiatives across a broad range of areas.

We are Australia's largest provider of research, advisory and data services to the public sector and
are 100% Australian owned and are growing. We have offices in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and
Brisbane and employ around 75 permanent staff as well as a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander team of over 35 community interviewers. We have a very strong, collaborative culture that
is strongly benefited by our staff being fully office-based and co-located in our State/Territory
offices.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Liaising with ORIMA teams to provide secondary research support
  • Sourcing information, performing literature searches and drafting quality written
documentation e.g. literature reviews, rapid reviews, evidence scans

  • Proofreading reports and preparing PowerPoint presentations
  • Maintaining academic and research records for the project(s), including EndNote (or similar)
libraries

  • Assisting with proposal development (e.g. preparing research backgrounds)
  • Contributing to ORIMA's thought leadership activities, including client webinars, website
content, publications, etc.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Residency Status -
Mandatory Australian citizen/ Permanent Resident (required given the
sensitive nature of some of the projects you may be working on)

Qualifications - Completed or working towards post-graduate qualification(s) in a
relevant area (e.g. librarianship, public policy, social sciences,
psychology, education, public health, communications, etc) with a
strong GPA

Technical Skills - Advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint. Some Excel knowledge
advantageous.

  • Advanced ability to conduct academic literature searches.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking capability
  • A track record of producing high quality written work for a range of
audiences

  • High level of organisational and time management skills, with the
ability to be self-directed and use initiative
