The Purpose


The purpose of the Certification manager is to manage the certification schemes for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products to both the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation and also BSI Kitemark schemes for PPE and Medical products.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Manage PPE CE certification schemes
  • Manage PPE and Medical Kitemark schemes
  • Carry out ongoing surveillance visits and onsite testing where required
  • Attend technical meetings and committees where required
  • Contribute to the department's income and regulatory requirements
  • Be able to read and understand product specifications and directives and discuss them at a technical level

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Knowledge of product certification processes
  • Knowledge of the PPE Regulation or European Directives in general
  • Background in mechanical engineering and/or plastic technologies
  • Able to work independently and as part of the team when necessary
  • Able to understand systems and processes
  • Preferably a Lead Auditor
  • Able to discuss technical issues with customers
  • Be able to devise complex test programs for multiple product projects
  • Able to read and understand product specifications

Desirable skills:

  • Preferably a Lead Auditor
  • Knowledge of product certification processes
  • Knowledge of the PPE Regulation or European Directives in general
  • Selfstarter
  • Able to problemsolve quickly and effectively
  • Have the technical ability and be able to understand the workings of lifedependent products
  • Be able to understand manufacturing processes and the inputs that they require
  • Be able to organize their own workloads and schedules with mínimal supervision
