We're seeking an experienced Track Renewals Resurfacing Lead. Long-term career opportunity with a leader in the mining sector.

We have a new requirement for a Track Renewals Resurfacing Lead, for this well-known mining organisation. This is a long-term career opportunity.

The scope of work is initially for 3 years but is likely to be ongoing, meaning you can make this a real career move.

This is a FIFO role, offering exceptional hourly rates.

There is an option for either an 8/6 or 2/1 or 5/2 : 4/3 roster, flying to Port Hedland. This is a true leadership position - you'll have up to 15 direct reports working under you.


This team is responsible for executing large-scale capital and operation expenditure track works including track renewal/reconstruction (plain line, turnouts, cross overs), re-rail & stress management and rail civil works.


You'll add value by:

  • Planning and manage the safe execution of track renewals resurfacing works
  • Developing methodologies to improve safety and efficiency, and to reduce cost.
  • Developing and sustain a strong safety and collaborative culture in the track renewals team.
  • Supporting the shut lead in project delivery, ensuring resurfacing works are completed to contract requirements and timelines.
In terms of your background, you'll ideally have experience in:

  • Experience in track renewals including plain line, turnouts and cross overs, level crossings, re rail and stress management.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiences.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systems.
  • Good planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completion.
  • Administration and prioritisation including time management capability.
  • Competent in reading detailed design drawings, plans and schedules.
  • Sound judgement including balancing competing issues.
  • Ability to identify risks and implement controls to manage the risk.
