About the Role


Due to the success of an internal pilot program, developed in collaboration with our Employment Services Developmental Educator, multiple Employment Disability Support Worker roles are available at our Elizabeth site.

These roles provide direct support and mentoring using a person-centred approach to help our supported employees, who are people with disability, to achieve their workplace goals.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a supportive and safe working environment
  • Provide encouragement and promote self esteem
  • Support employees to work with one another
  • Mentor employees to assist with workforce development and learning
  • Complete progress reports and report incidents
  • Liaise with external support services, and families and guardians

About You


You will be an experienced and qualified support worker with knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Code of Conduct and Quality and Safeguarding Framework.

You will have a genuine passion for working with people with disability to achieve their goals and a positive attitude.

Additionally, you will be an excellent problem solver with high level conflict resolution skills.

Other skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum Cert III in Disability (or equivalent)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current driver's licence
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • An ability to 'do with and not for'


For this role, the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford Phoenix Incorporated.


  • An acceptable clearance to work in the disability sector (DHS / DCSI / NDIS)
  • A National Police Clearance (no older than six months old)
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
  • Evidence of full vaccination (x3) with a TGAapproved COVID19 vaccine or an acceptable exemption
