The R&D team is a dynamic group of Data Scientists and Developers tasked with optimising business processes or creating new ones entirely through the use of machine learning, statistics and technology. The Business Analyst role will be responsible for liaising with the business stakeholders, technology leads and the R&D team itself to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement and play a central role in the transition to these improvements through training, reporting and documentation. Reporting to the Head of R&D, the role will be at the heart of systems integral to the company and will have real opportunity to shape the future of the business.
Position Responsibilities
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide concept, feasibility analysis and functional requirements for initiatives.
- Lead discovery workshops with internal stakeholders to elicit business and technology requirements
- Validate and document the requirements for changes to systems, processes, and policies
- Lead and assist in the development of test plans, test cases and execution of testing
- Conduct walkthroughs of business requirements, functional user stories and acceptance criteria to the internal and external development and analytics teams
- Prepare end user documentation and conduct training as required
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a logical approach to problem solving
- Project experience in Agile methodologies
- Delivering multiple small to medium projects successfully
- Strong skills in business requirements gathering and documentation
- Knowledge of business process modeling tools like Lucidchart
- Highly organised and efficient, with strong attention to detail
- Fosters partnerships and teamwork
- Can demonstrate use of initiative, flexibility and innovative thinking
- Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member within a complex and fast paced environment
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of business and IT stakeholders from senior management to operational staff including external vendors both on and offshore.
- Can see the end-to-end impacts of change view, as well as work at a detailed level
