About the role
In this newly created role, you will play a critical role in supporting our organisation's growth, engagement and success.


You will lead an engaged Culture and Capability Team and support them in delivering new and existing organisational development programs and initiatives with a focus on learning and development, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and capability building.


The position will also provide support to the Chief People officer in the development of strategies, frameworks and policies and provide expert advice and support to senior leaders to build their commitment and ability to optimise individual and team performance and potential.


  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to_:
  • Planning, leading and managing the implementation of organisation development strategies, programs, policies, procedures and systems that responds to the development needs of the organisation.
  • Undertaking organisational and strategic reviews, and change management initiatives, embedding Council values, induction and onboarding.
  • Leading training needs analysis research and development of plans to address critical capability requirements across the organisation in the short and long term.
  • Develop a real time process for People related reporting for the organisation including metrics, analytics and recommendations.
  • Ensure induction and compliance training for all new staff is embedded and meets organisational requirements.

About you
You are passionate and have a drive for improvement within employee culture and capability. You have an understanding and knowledge of organisation development practices, procedures, strategies, frameworks and programs.


As a proven leader you will know the importance of building trusted partnerships and clarity of communication with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will be respected for your emotional intelligence as you work through projects, and demonstrate empathy with the challenges and opportunities of our employees, and a commitment to our organisational values.


The following is also required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, training, organisation development or related.
  • Experience in leading, managing and developing staff
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver project outcomes to agreed deadlines
  • High degree of skill with various computer packages, such as Word, Excel and HR information system packages.
  • Sound knowledge of human resources practices and Enterprise Agreements/Industrial Awards and Council policies.
