About the Role


We are looking for an engaging and highly motivated individual with Financial Accounting/Management Accounting/Budgeting background who is looking for an opportunity to kick start a career in Accounting to join our Finance Integrated Planning & Reporting Team.

As the Finance Officer - Budgeting and Reporting, you will assist and support the team in the provision of efficient and effective administrative support.


What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the preparation of whole of Council's budgets/Council report;
  • Assist in providing of timely financial information to management;
  • Assist in maintaining performance planning and Council Fees & Charges when required;
  • Assist financial system daily, weekly, monthly tasks;
  • Assist in monitoring human resources database and organisational hierarchy;
  • Provide corporate financial systems helpdesk service to all staff;
  • Undertake various fact finding and research activities.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree in Accounting;
  • CPA qualified or currently undertaking CPA studies;
  • High level interpersonal, time management and communication skills;
  • Experience in the use of computerising accounting & payroll systems;
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Budgeting;
  • Accuracy & attention to detail.

Position details:

Permanent full-time role, S1148 Salary: Starting From $76K per annum + Superannuation

Salary will be based on qualifications, expertise, experience and knowledge
