Now, there's an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Compliance & Project Specialist to join our Payroll team

Position Summary

As a Payroll Compliance & Project Specialist, you will work closely with the Payroll Manager, utilizing your expertise in end-to-end payroll management in a medium-large organization. Your role involves ensuring compliance with laws and standards, analyzing modern awards and EBAs, and being part of a system project for a new payroll and workforce management system implementation. Collaboration and independent thinking are key to driving compliance and project success.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

  • Responsible for reconciling pay calculations to ensure compliance with EBAs and relevant awards.
  • Interpreting modern awards and employee agreements for payroll compliance.
  • Supporting stakeholders with data extraction for various purposes, including compliance, calculations, and reporting.
  • Assisting with end-to-end pay run processes and preparing compliance documentation.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new systems, identifying requirements and conducting testing.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and collaborating with stakeholders to improve processes and compliance.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, or related field.

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll operations.
  • Ability to interpret awards and EBAs, with retail industry experience as a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience in payroll system implementation projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
