The Department
The Social Work Department operates in accordance with the philosophy and goals of The Alfred. A focus on the quality of life and participation in care is a primary goal of the Department.

Social Work aims to identify and address the psychosocial impacts of illness and hospitalisation for patients and their families by providing a range of services that increase the quality of life and participation in care.

Social Work also assists patients and their families transition smoothly from hospital to home.

The Role

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments
  • Possession of a Masters degree or working towards higher qualifications would be desirable for this role
  • Previous experience working within a hospital setting
  • An understanding of working with an electronic medical record
  • Knowledge of NDIS and Aged Care services will be advantageous
