An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Management Accountant to join the Finance team at the City of Kwinana on a fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for managing variations to budget and the statutory budget review, including preparation of Council reports. This position also assists with the City’s annual budget which will include the long term financial plans, annual budget, and assisting with developing and maintaining quality management reporting.
[ads1] Job Requirements:- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and influencing skills.
- Be able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and judgement; meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
- Extensive computer literacy skills and knowledge of computerised accounting systems, including Microsoft Excel and ERP’s.
- Comprehensive experience in the provision of management reporting and budget preparation services with a commercial or local government authority.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislations and statutory requirements that apply to the position; accounting fundamentals and standards pertaining to Local Government.
- Effective time management and the ability to work under pressure and an ability to perform duties with a high degree of flexibility, discretion and judgement.
- High level of numeracy, analytical and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or relevant discipline. Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia, or currently working towards gaining membership.
