Senior Advisory Accountant

Role Purpose:
This senior role within the Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team involves providing technical advice on Group accounting topics and ensuring accurate statutory reporting. The role requires designing, developing, and communicating accounting policies for compliance. Collaboration with a matrix team and a continuous improvement mindset are essential.

Key Relationships:
Internal: Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy, collaborating with a Financial Reporting & Control team, and building relationships across business divisions.
External: Playing a key role in the external audit process with the Groupâs external auditor.

Key Accountabilities:
- Providing technical accounting advice to support commercial outcomes.
- Offering technical advice and thought leadership on accounting matters to Group Finance.
- Influencing the Groupâs external auditor on technical accounting matters.
- Designing and implementing accounting policies and training finance teams.
- Managing changes to accounting standards and leading statutory reporting.
- Ensuring accuracy in financial statement disclosures.
- Analyzing and implementing improvements to legal entity structures.

Experience and Competency:
- CA/CPA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
- Preferably experienced in financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in financial statement production and interpretation of accounting standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proven ability to deliver results in a matrix environment.
- Business acumen, credibility, and a track record of success.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and innovation.
