I am delighted to be working with one of the largest global renewable developers who are looking to add to their highly successful energy markets function.

As a Senior Energy Market Analyst, you will play a crucial role in shaping their market strategies and optimizing their renewable energy projects across the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of energy market trends, pricing dynamics, and regulatory changes within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.

  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge of energy market fundamentals to forecast electricity prices, demand patterns, and market behaviour.

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated models to simulate market scenarios and assess the financial viability of renewable energy projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project development, finance, and regulatory affairs to support decision-making processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate competitor activities, market risks, and opportunities to formulate strategic recommendations.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize asset dispatch, trading strategies, and revenue generation from renewable energy assets.

  • Prepare and present clear, concise reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as an Energy Market Analyst, preferably within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.

  • Proven expertise in energy market analysis, including knowledge of electricity market structures, regulations, and market participants.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; experience with market modeling software is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive results.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
