Job Description:

As Management Accountant you will contribute to the organisation by providing support and advice to budget managers, undertaking financial reporting and analysis and compliance audit functions and work as part of team in achievement of team and organisational goals and objectives.

[ads1] Job Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Financial Acquittal Statements in respect of operating grants, as required by the various external funding authorities
  • Provide support and advice to budget managers including investigation and analysis of variations to budget
  • Preparation of a range of monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Provide support to users of the budgeting and reporting software including Performing internal compliance audit functions
  • Maintain a register of Operating grants and meet year end reporting requirements in line with the requirements of the Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Assist in the production of council’s financial statements in accordance with relevant legislation and Australian accounting standards
Job Requirements:
  • Proficiency using computers with intermediate level Excel and Word and basic level PowerPoint skills and demonstrated ability using mainframe based financial software
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on internal customer support and service
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance equivalent are essential, qualification as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant is desirable, Diploma or higher level qualification in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent, Tertiary qualifications as a Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance environment
  • Ability to identify, investigate, analyse and resolve issues or problems with persistence, timeliness and innovation
  • Ability to work as part of a team in achievement of team and organisational goals and objectives
