The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled an experienced Machinist, with welding and fabrication experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in machinery operation, fitting and turning, and welding. The Machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality parts and components, maintaining and troubleshooting machinery, and ensuring efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Machinery Operation:

  • Operate and maintain various types of machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Set up machines according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Assembly and Fabrication

  • Assemble mechanical components according to technical drawings, specifications, and assembly procedures.
  • Perform fabrication tasks, including cutting, bending, drilling, and shaping materials such as metal, plastic, and composite.

Fitting and Turning:

  • Perform precise fitting and turning tasks to create parts and components that meet strict tolerances.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.

Welding:

  • Perform welding tasks, including MIG and TIG for aluminium.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and shaping.
  • Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform inspections and tests on finished products.
  • Document and report any quality issues or defects.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or diploma in machining, fitting and turning, or welding preferred.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machining role, with expertise in fitting and turning and welding.
  • Proven track record of working with a variety of machinery and welding techniques.

Skills:

  • Proficient in operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding equipment.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 20kg).
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
