The Role

Due to company growth, Auto & General are seeking a Paralegal to join our growing Legal team You will be responsible for supporting the Legal team in providing services to its internal business partners with a focus on building a reputation as a trusted advisor.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Law student looking for a full-time permanent role or a Paralegal interested in the next step in their career. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Brisbane office.

Accountabilities

• High-level legal and administrative support to the corporate legal team and internal business partners.
• Management of contract register, including reporting and approval submissions to Company Board committees for oversight.
• Lodgment and management of company intellectual property interests, notifications to the regulator and reporting obligations.
• Corporate governance to ensure that the business’s contractual arrangements comply with relevant industry legislation and regulations.
• Management and oversight of legal systems such as contract management systems, document management systems and Docusign platforms.

Knowledge and experience

• Either a Law student or a career paralegal with a minimum of 3 years’ experience - experience in an insurance business or the financial services industry is highly regarded
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy.
• Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ideally a good understanding of the legislative, regulatory and compliance obligations to operate in the Financial Services environment.
• Experience using Human-Centred Design principles in a large cross-divisional organisation, is advantageous but not essential.
