ABOUT THE ROLE A unique lifestyle opportunity

The Waste Educator/ Community Engagement, role is a lifestyle opportunity offering the right candidate a full-time permanent position in Orange, NSW.

The role will involve regional travel to numerous central NSW towns with tasks including community displays, school presentations, bin inspections and occasional waste auditing / project involvement.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

This position is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday.

The role will include:

Coordination and delivery of education presentation to school aged children Coordination and delivery of shopping centre and other community displays Reporting on the interactions and presentations Participating in data collection and behavioural observation projects including bin inspections and waste segregation audits Engagement and liaison with residents and the community at the kerbside / in the community

ABOUT YOU

Knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of kerbside waste services recycling, food and garden waste etc Willingness to engage in physical research projects including frequent early morning walking bin inspections, and educational intervention programs Reasonable level of computer literacy, including an understanding of basic Excel functions Confidence in verbal communication skills, including customer service and face to face public engagement The ability to work alone and within a multi-disciplinary team Class C drivers licence - essential Be dedicated and reliable; we are an essential service industry An understanding of sustainability or the environmental field, with an interest in community education, behaviour change and communication
