Harness Energy is actively recruiting two motivated and skilled individuals for an exciting Wireline Operator Trainee position. These positions provide excellent opportunities for career growth and development and will see you become an integral part of the team.

The Positions:

As a Wireline Operator Trainee, you will play a crucial role in servicing oil and gas wells, contributing to the maintenance and repair of service units and tools. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, and problem-solving abilities, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. A Mechanical or electrical background would be advantageous.

  • 1 x Position based in Roma (QLD): (DIDO) – 2/1 Roster, Accommodation in Roma is provided, you must reside within driving distance of Roma.
  • 1 x Position based in Moomba (SA): (FIFO) – 3/3 Roster, Flights & Accommodation provided, must reside within driving distance to Brisbane or Adelaide Airport.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Wireline winch unit, ensuring the proper monitoring of tension meter, cable speed, depth, and spooling of cable.
  • Prepare wells for service operations, align logging units, install sheave wheels, thread cables, and connect multiple tools as required.
  • Perform servicing on logging units and assist in maintenance checks of tools and equipment.
  • Select, load, and unload required tools, along with corresponding surface instrumentation for the job.
  • Assist in handling explosives, radiation, and hazardous materials under the guidance of the Engineer.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair primary tools, service units, and equipment according to safety guidelines.
  • Participate in safety meetings, adhere to HSE policies, and maintain safety training.
  • Assist in tool calibration.

  
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid open class unrestricted HR/HC/MC driver’s licence is required
  • Nice to have: Forklift, EWP, Working at heights, Dogman or above
  • Willing to drive to Brisbane Airport, Roma (QLD), or Adelaide Airport with the full right to live and work within Australia.
  • No travel restrictions
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Good mechanical/Electrical aptitude.
  • Energetic and willing to work in remote land locations
  • Willingness to work with explosives, radiation, and pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
