MPU Operator

The Role

Reporting to the site operating supervisor, the purpose of this position is to operate an Open Cut MPU in a safe and efficient manner to provide a quality product for the purpose of blasting at the site. We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced MPU Operator on a full-time basis to provide support to our United Wambo site within the Singleton region. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise you're mining skills and knowledge for one of our key customers.

In addition, the MPU Operator will also be responsible for:

Safe and efficient machinery operation of a MPU for the purpose of manufacturing explosives. Delivery of emulsion-based explosives in alignment with the contracted services supplied on site Basic maintenance on all on site equipment. Completion of all required paperwork.

What you will bring

It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate operational experience as a qualified MPU Operator or demonstrated equipment operation experience on an active blast bench as well as the following:

You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture HR Driver’s License (essential) / NSW UHL (essential) / Forklift (HRWL) Licence (desirable) RII Qualification in Mobile Mixing Explosives / RII Qualification in Support Shot firing Excellent communication skills, supportive team member with a positive attitude Flexibility and ability to prioritise blasting schedules and operational duties Good computer literacy, and aptitude to learn and use site specific software

The Site

United Wambo comprises of mining within two open cut pits - a new open cut coal mine at United, known as the United Open Cut, and the existing open cut operations at Wambo, known as the Wambo Open Cut. The Wambo Coal Mine is located in the Hunter Valley about 15 kms west of Singleton, near the village of Warkworth. The mine is bounded by several coal mining operations to the north and east, agricultural activities associated with Wambo Creek and Wollombi Brook to the south and Wollemi National Park to the southwest.
