Financial Controller working on a business critical transformation program, encompassing both business and technology, with a strong regulatory focus.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in a critical role focused on a major transformation and remediation project. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of the project, while contributing to achieving full compliance with Australian regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the remediation project, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Manage project expenditure, ensuring adherence to financial controls and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial reports to track project progress and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including project managers, business units, and senior management, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and risks, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian accounting standards (AASB) and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regulations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and implement best practices for financial management.
  • Support the development and implementation of a robust data governance framework for the project.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in KYC regulations and AML/CTF compliance.
  • Extensive experience with financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address financial risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
