Welders/Metal Fabricators

Our Client Norm Engineering Pty Ltd is looking for a Welders/Metal Fabricators.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or machinery to be used
• Set up components for welding
• Shaping and fabricating parts
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• MIG Weld small and large components.
• Cut, mould and weld metal/steel to fix faults, and weld and bolt parts of the structure together
• Use hand tools, flame torches and other machinery to shape, cut and weld sections of metal
• Maintain and repair all machinery.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Communicate with other production departments to organize components
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Demonstrate the ability to perfomr physical/manual labouring task related to a Welder/Metal Fabricator in a safe manner
• Report damages on machines and equipment
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop area.
• Ensure all work is carried out to supplied drawing information and specifications.
• Ensure all metalwork items are quality checked for conformance to drawing specifications.
• Ensure factory equipment is used correctly and in line with the operations manual.
• Ensure WHS practices are followed as per the Healthy and Safety Manual.
