Facility Overview: Lake Cargelligo is home to a local multipurpose service facility that provides 24-hour accident and emergency care. The facility includes a 22-bed capacity, divided into 6 acute care beds and 16 residential aged care beds. Additional services include allied health and community nursing support for residents.
Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in Lake Cargelligo. This role is critical in providing high-quality emergency care to patients and supporting the overall function of the multipurpose service facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and monitor patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while observing for any adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals and community nursing staff, to deliver coordinated care.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including trauma, medical emergencies, and acute care needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all documentation is up to date and complies with legal and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training activities.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- ALS, PALS, Triage & Resuscitation
- Demonstrated experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
Additional Information:
- Shared on-site accommodation is provided, which includes a kitchen, bathroom, and private bedroom.
- Travel allowance reimbursed.
Location Highlights: Lake Cargelligo is a relaxed and easy-paced town in the central west region of New South Wales, with a population of just under 1,500 residents. The town is known for its picturesque lake, making it a popular spot for water skiing, sailing, fishing, and bird watching. It is located approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes north of Griffith, about 3 hours north of Wagga Wagga, and a 7-hour drive from Sydney.
