Blackwater Mine

Located in Central Queensland, BMA’s Blackwater Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 21 kilometres from the town of Blackwater.

The BUMA Australia team has been performing truck and excavator pre-strip operations at Blackwater since May 2012. Over 35 million bank cubic metres of material is mined by our fleets every year.

Our fleet at the mine comprises a combination of Komatsu 930E and Caterpillar 789C haul trucks with Hitachi EX8000, Caterpillar 6060 and Hitachi EX3600 excavators.

About the Role

As a Health, Safety, Environment and Training (HSET) Administrator at Blackwater you will play a key part in processing, maintaining and improving our Health, Safety, Environment and Training documents and systems, and providing administrative services and support to the broader HSET and site project team.

Some of the duties you will be providing will be:

• HSET document processing 
• Updating and reporting on incidents, audits and other events in our event management system (INX)
• Field leadership collation and review
• Upkeep and processing of site visitor requests
• Health & Safety performance reporting
• Organisation and administration of the HSET team functions
• Monitoring and updating the compliance activities

This accountability involves provision of secretarial services and support including:

• Dealing with correspondence received by the team
• Organising internal and external meetings, seminars, conferences and training
• Preparation of data, presentations and reports
• Raising Purchase Requisitions and organising Purchase Orders
• Data Entry in HSET Systems
• Site HSET administration support
• Assisting in the development of HSET Budget and Forecasts
• You will also assist in production of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports.

About You

Our expectations of you are that you will have:

• Experience in administration duties
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft office suite desirable.
• Solid computer entry skills and the ability to quickly pick up new systems
• Mine site or other resource or construction industry experience is desirable, particularly in the HSET field
• A passion for helping others and doing whatever jobs need doing
• Excellent time management and record keeping skills
• A good team player attitude
