Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a Technical Director to join our Northern NSW Roads, Civil and Transport Planning team. 

Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond.

This is a senior project delivery role tasked with leading a project team to ensure successful outcomes on specific jobs, primarily for TfNSW. The role is also tasked assisting to secure a pipeline of work for the business group in line with the market business plan.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Understand client project objectives and success factors, project scope and key decision makers, influencers and stakeholders involved in the project. Prepare proposals and contribute to the development of a sustainable work pipeline. Establish and maintain effective relationships with industry networks and clients Provide high level technical services to clients on a range of projects and deliver services to meet client requirements and expectations. Facilitate contact between key people within the client organisations and GHD and actively promote GHD’s services to the client. Provide support to other professionals; . technical and business development mentoring, peer review and quality assurance Planning and monitoring timely input of resources, appropriate collaboration and providing feedback to team members Work closely with project team members and the wider business to ensure a comprehensive approach to design projects. Collaborate with key people in other Business Groups and other Regions (. cross selling, developing internal clients) Work collaboratively to ensure GHD is best positioned for and successfully secures major multi-disciplinary opportunities Identify cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base and assist in the capture of these opportunities Liaise with Marketing & BD Manager/team to enable coordinated delivery of bids/business development/marketing services Drive and manage the client satisfaction of GHD, providing feedback and guidance to Project Directors/Managers as and when required Management of multi-disciplinary projects that drives the development of positive client and partner relationships

What you will bring to the team 

Minimum Bachelor degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or Project Management. Proven experience in technical leadership and management of TfNSW projects At least 15 years post-graduate experience in civil engineer and/or Roads and highways design. Existing industry connections with relevant client organisations. Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes. Proven project management and leadership experience, with a strong knowledge of, or ability to learn, GHD’s standards around the project lifecycle (Opportunity Assessment through to Delivery). Self motivated and energetic Flexible in your approach to challenges Project/Client problem solving focus Willingness to listen, understand and respond to Client needs
