About the team

With continued high growth and a healthy pipeline of transactions, the BDO Sydney Corporate Finance team are seeking to appoint an Assistant Manager, Financial Model Reviews to join the team.

Current Opportunity

We are searching for an Assistant Manager to play an active role in supporting the team in the review of financial models for a broad range of infrastructure projects and project finance transactions.

Key responsibilities will also include but not limited to:

  • Manage and assist in the delivery of financial model reviews for a wide range of engagements. This will include running our analysis tools; cell by cell review of models; preparation of queries and reports for the client; testing of sensitivities; and appraisal of the accounting & tax compliance of the models assumptions and calculations.
  • Detailed review of project and financing documentation and ensuring the financial model complies with the associated documentation.
  • Depending on your experience, there may be potential for candidates with modelling and VBA experience to get involved with the development of bespoke/custom financial models for a variety of corporate clients.
  • Supporting business development opportunities by providing assistance with preparation of proposals
  • Providing support to the wider team as required

What You'll need to succeed

  • You will have prior in-depth experience in reviewing financial models for a broad range of infrastructure projects.
  • Background or exposure in either Audit or Corporate Finance ideally gained within professional services or Consulting firms
  • An eye for detail and strong logical skills, including confidence in working with Excel and developing this to an advanced level
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholders precisely and concisely
  • Sound commercial skills and judgement
  • Genuine commitment to quality service and building strong client relationships
  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability
  • Desire to be part of a team and committed to supporting team members
