Position Description:
- Conduct oral health assessments and develop personalised care plans for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and standards.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in oral health therapy and dental hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience.
- Provide educational programs to motivate children, parents, and the community on the importance of oral health.
- Perform preventative dental procedures under the supervision of an Orthodontist.
- Administer fluoride therapy by applying remineralising solutions and desensitising agents.
- Remove deposits from teeth to maintain oral hygiene.
- Apply non-invasive fissure sealants to teeth.
- Take impressions of the mouth for orthodontic appliances.
- Perform dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis.
- Administer local anaesthesia via infiltration and mandibular nerve block.
- Fabricate retainers, ensuring a precise fit.
- Construct custom mouth guards and retainers.
To be successful, candidates will have the following attributes:
Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Oral Health Therapy or Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in clinical work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
On-the-job training may be required in some instances.
