About the role
Our market-leading Public Law team continues to grow, with a strong pipeline of work. The team advises government on a wide range of complex advisory and advocacy matters. Government is a core business for Maddocks and our Public Law team is central to that relationship.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate/junior Senior Associate in our highly regarded Public Law team. Working alongside Partner Kate Oliver, this role will provide advice to clients in local government on administrative law, governance, contractual matters and statutory interpretation. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team that does high-quality work, where you will be well supported with your training and development.
About you
In order to be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Qualified Lawyer with at least 4-5+ years’ experience in private practice with Administrative Law/Advisory experience, and ideally (but not necessarily) proven experience in local and/or state government work.
- Strong communication, exposure to advice drafting, contract drafting and interpretation, organisational skills and a collegiate approach to your work.
