Why this role matters

Staying Home Leaving Violence is a specialised domestic violence program aimed at preventing clients from becoming homeless via the provision of intensive case management which is long-term, needs-based and integrated with key agencies.​We help women and children in Broken Hill and Wentworth/Dareton who are escaping domestic violence to remain safely in their homes.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Team Leader to lead the operational service delivery and case management practice; incorporating specialist family violence case management with deep understanding of policies, guidelines and available supports/ services, ensuring the most appropriate and effective services are provided.

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Broken Hill, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 6.

You will successfully

  • Lead day to day operations of service delivery and case management practice.

  • Provide line management, day-to-day support, and supervision to case worker/s.

  • Utilise specialist knowledge and expertise to resolve complex issues, manage complaints and escalations.

  • Ensure accurate client records are maintained for all clients and meet all funding body or legislative requirements.

  • Monitor service performance targets and identify strategies to address emerging issues or risks (with Program Manager).

  • Monitor relevant aspects of budgets & expenditure, including client brokerage.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with departmental agencies and community sector representatives.

  • Provide oversight of quality and compliance measures to ensure accreditation standards are met .

  • Undertake recruitment activities as required.

You will have

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field (desirable) OR high level of sector knowledge, experience and skill attained through prior learning and previous employment.

  • A Current NSW employee Working with Children Check. 

  • A valid NSW Driver Licence.

  • Significant experience in the family violence support sector.

  • Well-developed community liaison and advocacy skills, including the ability to consult and negotiate with relevant agencies in the service sector and the public.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic violence.

  • Experience in managing and overseeing case management services.  

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with the impact of trauma. 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills communication.
