Role Overview:  

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on frontend development to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable user interfaces for enterprise-level applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new frontend features that enhance our platform's user experience. This role also involves shaping the UI architecture and strategy, contributing to broad UI transformation initiatives.

This role will work closely with and support Manager(s) of Engineering, the Nuix Product organisation and the scrum team to support the delivery of Nuix Products that benefit both Nuix and our customers.

This role will work in a highly collaborative agile environment, developing world-class products, and will contribute to the design, development, security, and scale strategy of Nuix Software.  This role is responsible for providing the development of large scale enterprise applications including interfaces, workflow, and layout. Experience in working in a highly collaborative agile environment developing world-class products.

The professional growth that will be developed from success in this position will be: 

• Enhanced technical skills in frontend development, architecture, and UI strategy.
• Opportunities to lead frontend initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to UI/UX strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize frontend solutions, focusing on high-performance, scalable architectures. Lead UI transformation and strategic improvements to deliver a user-centered experience across the platform.
• Lead and influence UI strategy, especially around micro-frontend architectures or alternative modern frameworks.
• Assist in the planning and development of new products and processes. Ensuring that such practices and other official Nuix Engineering processes are followed
• Collaborate with backend and full-stack teams to integrate APIs and maintain a cohesive platform.
• Participate in planning, backlog grooming, and technical design discussions for frontend components.
• Document frontend features thoroughly, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing and receiving feedback for continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with industry trends to implement UI best practices and ensure future compatibility.
• Provide maintenance support as scheduled during business hours.
• Attend learning sessions, training, and seek learning resources to fill gaps in your knowledge.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Degree in a relevant field such as computer science/engineering, software engineering, machine learning, mathematics or related quantitative discipline.
• Approximately 7 years or more experience in a similar role.
• Expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js for front-end development, with JavaScript as an added advantage.
• Ability and desire to test code is required.
• Experiences in delivering software on a global scale both from the inception of new and incremental changes to existing.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems on a daily basis.
• Passion for and understanding of good development practices such as test-driven development, and agile methodologies
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple time-zones
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
