About the Roles:

Hedland Bail house Hope aims to create a safe and respectful home environment for young people going through the Youth Justice system. This service is a 24hour facility so the successful candidate will be required to work during the evening as well as during the days. Standard shift times are 4.45pm - 7.45am (with some flexibility offered by a supportive team)

As a Residential Support Worker, you will establish the day to day, routine and upkeep of the Bail house. You will work with young people to build rapport based on trust and respect, and develop goals and strategies to manage their wellbeing. You will respond to mental health concerns and behaviour in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.

About you:

Ideally, you will have experience in working with vulnerable young people and knowledge of the issues impacting young people in the Youth Justice system. This understanding will give you the ability to navigate difficult behavioural situations. You will show commitment to HOPE's vision, mission and values and understand how to work respectfully and in a culturally secure way with Aboriginal communities and individuals. It is desirable to be working towards a Certificate IV in Youth, Mental Health, and/ or Community Services with some experience.

Appointments will be subject to Australian residency/visa, satisfactory National Criminal Record checks, the Working With Children Check, Department of Justice Clearance, Covid-19 Vaccination records, Current C or A class driver's license, and suitable work referees
