The Project

Located in the small suburb of Loxford in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, approximately three km north of the town of Kurri Kurri, and approximately 35 km west of Newcastle and 125 km north of Sydney.

The Hunter Power Station Project will generate 660 megawatts via two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines, and is anticipated to be fully operational by the end of 2024.

 

About the role

This role will be based on site on a 10:4 Roster.
 

What will a day look like in this role

  •  Monitor contract terms and conditions and ensure adherence to these.
  • Liaise with other area Superintendents to maximise efficiencies during work planning.
  • Responsible for ensuring that new employees that are working in the area have received the required inductions and training appropriate to their tasks.
  • Supervises work carried out to ensure high quality of workmanship and efficiency.
  • Assist with QA documentation around Certifiable works.

What would we expect you to bring to the team

•    Electrical Engineering Qualification
•    Significant engineering experience throughout, design, construction and commissioning on Brownfields and Greenfields projects.
•    Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
•    Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook
