ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a newly created role due to growth. Are you an experienced, driven, and hands-on Cost Controller who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving business in the resources sector?

Working in collaboration with our Project Management team, you provide accurate and reliable Project cost management, including recording and recurring reporting of cost performance, analysis, and forecasting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate monthly cost and forecast review meetings with Project Managers and relevant project teams.
  • Reviewing and consolidating Projects' data for reporting.
  • Checking cost to date for accuracy and correct coding and identifying ‘missing costs’/accruals.
  • Preparing, updating, and monitoring cost curves for expenditures and commitments.
  • Cost forecasting by assisting, analysing, and challenging Work Breakdown estimates.
  • Assisting in the development of the Project Control standard, manual, procedures, and flowcharts.
  • Attend weekly project review meetings as required.
  • Provide Project Accountant and/or Finance Manager with monthly journals for allocation of labour, plant and equipment and subcontractor costs to the respective WBS where necessary.

  
ABOUT YOU
Successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management experience, exceptional attention to detail and extensive experience in project controls plus:

  • You will have at least 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining sector
  • Proven understanding of the project and contract lifecycle
  • Advantageous to have a Certificate, Diploma, or above, in a related discipline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to manage a variety of stakeholders including Clients, Vendors, and co-workers. 
  • A high level of organisational competency, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints. 
  • Proficient understanding of business acumen with the ability to adapt to different business environments.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional knowledge of Cost Control processes. 
  • Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility, and discretion.
