We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us at The Advocate as a Journalist in North-West Tasmania in a 12 month contract position. The Advocate delivers the latest news from the North-West and West coasts including sport, weather, entertainment and lifestyle. As part of Australian Community Media (ACM), it has a loyal readership, created by its consciousness of its role in the community - that of an informer, watchdog and entertainer.

The successful candidate will have

  • Strong news-gathering and writing/reporting skills
  • Proven skills in writing for online and social media audiences with tight deadlines
  • Proven educational qualifications in Communications/Journalism
