About the role

The Intelligence Management Function (IMF) is a centralised data and analytics division to support prevention-led and client-centric decision making throughout WorkSafe. Our objectives include uplifting data literacy, generating insights to ensure WorkSafe has a deep understanding of employer and worker needs, drivers and goals. We think creatively and share ideas to drive innovation in response to evolving business needs and emerging technology.

This Reporting Analyst role sits in the Reporting and Insights team, reporting directly to the Manager, Reporting & Insights. You will work closely with and take guidance from Senior Reporting Consultants, Reporting Consultants and Business Intelligence Analysts in the team, contributing to the maintenance, operational processes, and regular reporting that supports the decision making of business stakeholders and executives within WorkSafe.

Key accountabilities:

  • Extract, modify and analyse data to support reporting requests
  • Run regular reporting that is timely, relevant, useful and accurate
  • Use data visualisation tools to handle large volumes of data and produce reporting
  • Provide evidence-based insights to inform decision-making
  • Perform data validation and quality checks

About you

You will bring a sound knowledge of data warehouse, paired with experience in using tools to wrangle, capture and prepare data from a variety of sources for reporting. You are highly proficient in MS Excel combined with programming experience within SAS and/or similar languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python) and experienced in using data visualisation and reporting tools in day-to-day work (e.g. Qlik Sense, Power BI). You will also be a team-oriented person, who enjoys contributing to team projects and initiatives, with attention to detail, prioritisation and time management skills, and a great learning aptitude.
