About the Role

We are seeking a part-time CGS Care Educator who is interested in creating a safe, caring, quality environment for children at our CGS Care Programme. CGS Care is an out-of-school hours care programme at Canberra Grammar School that provides a combination of indoor and outdoor activities each day and are guided by children’s interests and abilities. In this role you will provide a warm and stimulating environment for young children attending CGS Care and implement National Quality Framework practices to a high standard while contributing to the development of programs under the supervision of the Director of CGS Care.

About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care qualification or actively working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification.
  • Well-developed skills for working both as part of a team and under supervision and direction;
  • An interest and commitment to working with young children;
  • Administrative and organisational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.

The following attributes are desirable:

  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Sound understanding of My Time Our Place Framework
  • Sound understanding of the National Quality Standards and regulations

All team members at CGS are required to have:

  • Appropriate qualifications
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current National Police Check
  • Full working rights within Australia
