About the program

AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

In this role, as the Senior Software Configuration Analyst, you will Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and guidance to the project on Software Configuration Management (CM) and lead the following key activities:

• Utilise software CM tools such as JIRA and GIT to manage software files and track software changes through the CM Software release process.
• Create Software builds and associated documentation and generate metrics.
• Utilise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Windchill to manage and track software product baselines and formal software deliveries.
• Manage automation and maintenance of the software release status for operational and test releases.
• Leverage CI/CD tools to automate testing and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor and Maintain the health of supporting DevOps infrastructure like container orchestration, build agents, monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Help define and document best practices for source control, continuous integration and release management
 

About you:

To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated knowledge and experience with Software Configuration Management/repository Tools such as GitLab and Nexus and experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab along with;

• Significant knowledge of and experience with configuration management principles, including configuration identification, configuration control, configuration auditing and status accounting.
• Impressive knowledge of and experience with Software Configuration
• Sound experience with and knowledge of build and release management in a complex engineering environment.
• Experience with Agile Software Development.
 

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
