In this role you will deliver effective community engagement with Aboriginal communities, customers, and stakeholders to support a large range of infrastructure projects within the Aboriginal Communities Water Services (ACWS) program.

We are looking to create a pool of suitable applicants to fill immediate and future vacancies for similar opportunities. We currently have one fixed term opportunity available for a period of six months with possibility of extension or permanency.

What the role will involve:

·Develop, implement, and maintain effective communication and community engagement strategies to support the delivery of the Aboriginal Communities Water Services program.

·Undertake situation analysis in planning for and delivering successful community engagement strategies, activities, and materials.

·Engage with Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owner groups as key stakeholders to inform our strategic development and management.

·Plan, coordinate, and lead events including the associated logistics, internal and external stakeholder management.

·Provide ongoing support on projects where Aboriginal engagement forms part of the key deliverables.

Key skills and experience: 

·This position relates to Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), where Aboriginality is considered a genuine occupational qualification for this position.

·Substantial experience in Aboriginal community engagement, stakeholder and issues management.

·Considerable experience in developing communication and community engagement strategies.

·Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills.

·Demonstrated organisational and project management skills.

·Ability to travel to remote and regional areas often.

·Tertiary level qualification in related discipline.

·Current unrestricted WA Drivers Licence.
