The opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Palliative Care, Registered Nurse to join our Palliative Care team in the North, there is a requirement that you will be able to travel throughout all sites.

Key Responsibilities

This rewarding role will provide high quality Palliative Care nursing to our valued clients in their own homes. You will work independently in the community to ensure our clients’ needs are met in the comfort of their own homes. Responsibilities will include managing all aspect of end of life care, for clients with age ranges across the lifespan. Care will include palliative care assessment and symptom management, continuous subcutaneous infusions and management of other subcutaneous medications, wound management including malignant wounds, CVAD management, catheter management and declaration of life extinct. You will act as an advocate for clients and build effective relationships with them, their families, the RDNS team and relevant health professionals. You will join a team of Palliative care nurses, reporting into the Case Coordinator as well as being well supported by the Palliative Care Clinical Practice Consultant.

About you

You have passion with purpose and are driven by excellence. Caring is a profession and a calling, and your work and support enriches everyone. In addition, you will have the following skills:

  • Current Nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Palliative Care experience and experience completing palliative care assessments
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Well-developed communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, prioritise workload and work within allocated timeframes
  • Previous community nursing experience is desirable but not essential
