About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Ministry Assistant You will be responsible for supporting the Team Leaders of Latrobe Valley Salvos in delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities include

  • Demonstrate a supportive approach to other staff members and volunteers
  • Develop partnerships with High Schools in Latrobe Valley and fostering opportunities for meaningful engagement
  • Pastoral care and discipleship activities across the Latrobe Valley as agreed with Team Leaders
  • Contribute to Programs and activities so they meet LMP. (Local Mission Plan)
  • Engage with and assist in Ministry and Mission across the Latrobe Valley


This is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until June 2027, based in Morwell, VIC. S

What you will have

  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army  
  • An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel  
  • Experience in a Ministry position (desirable) 
  • Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groups  
  • A member / soldier of a local Salvation Army Corps   ​
  • Evidence of involvement in congregational life 
  • Regular attendance of any Latrobe Valley Youth Activities/Programs (including Sunday Morning worship)
  • Maintain current knowledge of Victorian child protection policies and legislation 
  • A willingness to be a part of the Latrobe Valley Salvos multi campus Faith Communities and facilitate opportunities that help people to connect with God in meaningful way
  • Current and valid Driver’s License
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain  ​
