Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD) oversight for the Payments, Institutional banking and New Zealand branch. 
  • Oversee key risk artefacts, including risk profiles, risk appetite statements, and the implementation of risk management frameworks.
  • Offer independent advice and support to the Leadership Teams on risk appetite, risk profiles, and the control environment.
  • Independently challenge and oversee the design and implementation of material projects, ensuring risks are managed and controls are effectively designed, tested, and implemented.
  • Drive embedding, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework and supporting policies to meet regulatory and business objectives.
  • Enhance risk involvement in project execution to streamline and accelerate delivery.
  • Collaborate with other risk teams to ensure governance through regular Board and Executive reporting on key issues, emerging risks, and incidents.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the team, coordinating risk management activities across the risk profile.

What you'll need to suceed:

  • 15+ years global risk and compliance experience in a major financial institution with specific experience in Payments and Corporate and Institutional Banking. (Preferrably in the Payment industry)
  • Strong understanding of Banking Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
  • Proven track record in risk and compliance management.
  • Experience leading a mid to large sized team 
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
