Dutton Park Parish & St Mary’s Catholic Parish invite applications for the part-time position of Parish Secretary (ideally Monday to Friday, but open to flexibility).

The successful applicant will have:

  • Compassion and empathy,
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills,
  • Demonstrated ability in providing reception services and administrative support,
  • Experience in all aspects of office administration covering a broad range of duties and functions including an intermediate level of knowledge across Microsoft Office software,
  • Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and with others,
  • Ability to support the parish sacramental programs,
  • Readiness to assist in the preparation of Baptisms, weddings & funerals,
  • A willingness to work within the Mission and Vision of the Catholic Church.  

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Reception,
  • Administration with various tasks,
  • Bulletin/Newsletter,
  • Prayers of intercession and associated folders for the Church,
  • Coordination of Funerals, Baptisms, etc,
  • Parish Hall bookings,
  • Management of Trades people,
  • Maintenance of parish register,
  • General Office duties.

Remuneration will be paid in line with the Clerks Private Sector Modern Award 2010 (above Award Archdiocesan rates apply).

The successful candidate will also need to submit to a national criminal history/police check and obtain / maintain a current Working with Children Blue Card.
