My Gateway have a fantastic opportunity for a Horticulture apprenticeship to join Parramatta City Council.

As part of this apprenticeship you will gain a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III in Horticulture - Parks & Garden
 
As part of the apprenticeship, some of your responsibilities may include:

• Assist your rotational team leader in delivering all works, programs, and schedules to the agreed standards
• Conduct inspections of parks and other facilities
• Make decisions and implement work practices in line with acceptable practices of the Horticulture/Arboriculture/Greenkeeping trade and industry
• Adapt to changing priorities and carry out other tasks as directed, particularly during wet weather or emergencies, to meet community needs
• Learn and demonstrate an awareness of costs and ensure that operations are undertaken efficiently with minimal waste
• Show initiative by providing feedback and input on improvements in operating procedures, programs,and work schedules, including upgrading or improving plant, equipment, materials, and tools used by the team or unit
• Ensure correct completion of all necessary administrative functions (electronic or paper-based) associated with the department
• Gain a good understanding of Council's software and technology, specifically Worx online (iPad), and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ensure a safe workplace for all works undertaken by:
  o Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
• Complying with any reasonable instructions, policies, and procedures of Council.

2x Covid vaccination and white card required.
