The Role

The APS 5 Materiel Inventory Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve multifaceted materiel logistics inventory and asset management work within an integrated workforce. The incumbent will have a well-developed understanding of compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, the ESCM, and financial policies. 

The successful candidate will be accountable for organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will coordinate and contribute to the work of a team, and provide advice and assistance to the APS 4 employee through supervision, setting work priorities and allocating tasks. 

The successful candidate will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to ensure efficient progression of inventory processes. They will also be able to identify, respond, and provide advice on issues to achieve unit priorities.

About our Team
The Supply Support Section is a group within the Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Systems Program Office, located in Waverton, Sydney.

The Supply Support team are highly motivated and professional individuals that provide materiel support across Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving product Schedules. The candidate must commit to training and being proficient in the utilisation of current Defence Inventory Management systems, codification and cataloguing, and payment of invoices within 4 months of joining the MCDSPO.

Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following: 

Relevant experience undertaking Inventory Management activity, and / or experienced in end-to-end supply chain operations.
Understand current Defence materiel logistics policies and apply this to materiel inventory and asset management activities.
Proficient in the use of MILIS, NAVALLOW, MS Office programs and MyFi, or demonstrate an ability to undertake substantial training in these systems and apply the required skills in a 4-month timeframe.
Process driven and experienced in record keeping.
Highly developed interpersonal skills in order to build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
An interest in Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving systems is desirable (not essential).
