Overview

Our Brisbane-based commercial client is seeking to engage a Senior Project Manager (Stream Lead) to oversee and support multiple Project Managers within multiple program streams as part of a large-scale program: Archiving / Decommissioning, Modernisation, Data Governance and Generative AI. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of projects aimed at enhancing the technology stack, digital infrastructure and governance. The role is a 12-month initial contract with the potential for extension, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support multiple project managers and their respective projects across program streams. Provide guidance, performance evaluations, and foster a culture of accountability to ensure the effective execution of each project.
  • Oversee, monitor, and manage the multiple workstreams within the overall program, ensuring alignment with key objectives and timelines. Coordinate tasks across various teams, track progress, and proactively address risks to ensure integration and delivery of all program components.
  • Engage with key IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with the program’s goals and objectives. Foster collaboration and clear communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure all parties are informed and involved throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with program streams. Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to safeguard successful project delivery.
  • Establish and uphold governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with program standards. Monitor and enforce governance processes across all workstreams to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress, risks, and outcomes of program streams. Ensure all project activities and deliverables are accurately documented and reported in a timely manner.

Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in project and program management, with a focus on IT and digital transformation projects. Proven experience in managing complex IT programs, including expertise in change management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Deep knowledge of IT applications, infrastructure, and data governance practices.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to align program streams with broader program goals and develop strategies that drive success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Flexible in managing shifting priorities, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and adapting to changing business needs.
  • A Blue Card is required for this position or the ability to obtain one at your own cost.
