About the Role:
The Steel Welder will be responsible for welding components for steel tanks according to detailed codes, drawings, and company quality standards. This role requires a hands-on professional with experience in welding and fabrication to assist in manufacturing, repairs, and maintenance activities within the workshop. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Foreman to meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Reports to: Production Foreman (Steel)
Location: New South Wales, Australia

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in the manufacture and assembly of steel tanks.
  • Perform welding repairs and maintenance on steel components and equipment as required.
  • Complete quality assurance (QA) documentation and process control paperwork.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in steel welding, with a focus on structural or tank manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with QA processes and documentation.
