Join our team and play a role managing property which is used to deliver valuable community services. The property portfolio you will help manage includes residential, retail and commercial assets such as disability accommodation, domestic violence accommodation, community hubs, church property and childcare centres. You will help manage property all over the Archdiocese of Brisbane, which extends from the NSW border, north to Hervey Bay and as far west as Kingaroy.

You will be based at the Cathedral of St Stephen precinct, in the Brisbane CBD, and work alongside the Asset and Property Manager to oversee a variety of asset classes and gain exposure to all aspects of the property lifecycle.

You will be part of the Property and Building team which is a collaborative group of men and women of all ages and specialties across design and construction, development management, facilities management and portfolio strategy. The Property and Building team is an ‘in-house’ service provider, providing advice in relation to Property and Asset management; Design & Construction; Property Development; Facilities Management; and general property maintenance management to the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Parishes, Centacare Social Services, and other Archdiocesan Agencies.

Within this role you will be responsible for or assist in the following:

  • Providing general advice to Archdiocesan Agencies and Parishes in relation to property matters
  • Working with other service lines (Design & Construction; Property Development) in relation to the delivery of property
  • Managing lease and tenancy agreements, including rent reviews, negotiation and lease renewals
  • Administration of rental payments and arrears, property maintenance, the database for the Archdiocese portfolio and accounts and finance tasks such as invoice coding, invoice approval and budgeting
  • Conducting inspections for incoming and outgoing tenants, plus condition reports
  • Finalising tenancy make goods or negotiating financial settlements
  • Developing property procedures to improve internal control procedures

The successful candidates will require:

  • Previous property management/development experience in commercial, residential or both required
  • Experience in property accounting
  • Familiarity with property trends and markets
  • Property database programs competency
  • High level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Driver’s licence
  • Real estate certificate is desirable however not essential
  • Ability to understand and navigate Organisational Governance requirements
