Yanchep Secondary College (SC) is seeking a skilful, dedicated and enthusiastic Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teacher to join our team.
The successful applicant should have proven abilities in learning program planning and instructional practice to facilitate improved student outcomes. We are seeking a teacher who is a strong team player who supports improvement in teaching and learning in a Senior High School environment. You will ideally model a culture of self-reflection and engagement in coaching that promotes your professional growth.
You will support the HPE Learning Area team to strategically meet the learning needs of all students studying HPE curriculum, including students with disabilities and special needs.
To be successful, you should have a moral purpose that is aligned to making a difference in the lives of young people by preparing them to be active and productive adults. This includes the commitment and desire to create and sustain a safe, student centred learning environment.
You will ideally possess excellent communication and public relation skills that allow you to build and maintain collaborative and respectful partnerships across the college and the wider community. You should possess exceptional interpersonal, organisational and instructional skills as you support the HPE Learning Area through the College’s School Improvement agenda. Yanchep SC is committed to providing young people with a high quality, comprehensive education that allows our students and teachers to reach their potential. We have programs for students from Year 7 to 12 with many pathways for students to succeed, including university, further training or employment. Our College buildings have recently been completed and include a purpose built gymnasium, outdoor court areas, ovals and specialised weights room. We are building sporting programs for students in Rugby, Volleyball and Netball.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
