ABOUT CANNINGTON  

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent site based position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.

As the Logistics Planner, you will be working with the Small Projects Team within the Engineering Department. The team is diverse and performs work across all areas of the mining operation. The Logistics Planner supports through onboarding personnel and booking travel/Accommodation along with training, so workers are available and ready to start work based off the schedule.

There is support required during shutdowns along with key administrative tasks within the team.

We are also looking for someone who can assist the Projects Planner and fill in for them when on leave.

There is a team in place to support the role and development of any skills required to meet the diverse applicant we are looking for.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

Personnel mobilisation/demobilization and department training requirements. Performing essential administrator services for the Projects and broader Engineering Team. Support project leads with preparation of capital approval documentation. Assist the Projects Planner and backfill for them as required.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

A good work ethic, with motivation to work in challenging situations. Class C Driver’s License Clear communication and interpersonal skills Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite Skills – Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word. Experience coordinating onboarding/training/flights for large workgroups in mining or similar industry. Previous Logistics/Project Planning experience or Cert IV in Project Management or similar qualification highly regarded.

Additional skills and experience that would be desirable for the role but we may look to develop for the right candidate –

SAP Experience (Inventory and Supply) Knowledge of work management and planning processes in mining or similar industry. Solid experience working in a similar role within the Mining industry.
