Introduction:

Join Metso at Karratha’s newest and best equipped repair facility. We are seeking experienced Boilermakers to join our Service team in the newly built Metso Karratha Service Centre. 

These positions are on an 8/6 roster and can either be residential in Karratha (preferred) or FIFO from Perth.

What you’ll do:

Ensure all safety inductions and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks. Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes according to specifications. After dressing has been completed by the steelyard, prepare material for bending, drilling or machining. Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets. Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.  Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job. Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job. Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job. Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment. Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job. Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required. Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities. Conduct QA /QC inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all Repairs/project works are to Metso standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary.

Who you are:

Boilermaker Trade Certificate. Significant boiler making experience. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Strong attention to detail
